Lumen is a price-transparency service that helps patients understand typical costs for private dental treatment in the UK. This page explains how clinic listings work and what is planned for clinics going forward.

How clinics are currently listed

Lumen compiles clinic listings from publicly available data, including OpenStreetMap (clinic location data © OpenStreetMap contributors, ODbL) and published clinic information. If your clinic appears on Lumen, it is because your details are publicly available from one of these sources.

Listing on Lumen is not an endorsement of your services. Price ranges shown alongside clinic areas are typical ranges for that treatment in that location — they are not attributed to any individual clinic as a quoted price.

Inaccurate or missing information

If your clinic's details are incorrect or you would like information removed, contact us at clinics@lumenhealth.uk and we will review the listing.

Clinic portal

Registered clinics can claim their listing, manage their profile, add credit, and receive patient enquiries through the clinic portal. Clinics are currently onboarded by invitation — if we have emailed you a claim link, use it to activate your account.

How patient leads work

When a patient enquires, we share that lead with up to two matched clinics in their area — never more. Each clinic pays per lead, and your first lead is half price. You are paying for a qualified introduction to a real patient, not an exclusive booking: the patient chooses who to proceed with, so more than one clinic may receive the same enquiry.

How refunds work

If a lead is bad, report it from your portal within 48 hours of delivery and we credit its price straight back to your account balance — once per lead.

A refund is for a lead that was invalid: a wrong or non-working phone number, a duplicate, or a fake enquiry. It is not for a lost sale — a real, contactable patient who chose another clinic, went quiet, or decided not to proceed is normal for any lead source, not a bad lead.

We reserve the right to challenge any claim. Because we hold the original enquiry, we verify a sample of bad-lead reports manually against the real contact details; deliberately false claims can lead to account suspension.

Being listed is free and based on public data. Commercial terms for receiving patient enquiries are shared directly with clinics we invite. We will not contact you for marketing purposes unless you have explicitly expressed interest.
